wow awesome pic!
Beautiful shot Bret!
Thanks, Wiebe! This is my most popular photo here on DA. It was also the first time I developed a RAW photo, which made me an instant fan of RAW and Photoshop.
The shot is well rewarded indeed! But fully deserved Brett! I don't know what RAW is...
Most cameras shoot jpegs but if you can set your camera to shoot in RAW, the camera doesn't process the photo; all the data is there to be uncovered through the various filters available in Photoshop. One has more leeway when working with a RAW file. Once one finishes the post-processing, it is saved as a jpeg.
Wow amazing work. I really wana see one in person now
This has been featured in my journal.
The Jelliesfloating zombies.
brainless creatures drifting along
their toxins just a brush away
and they are so pretty!
Is it real? Please, let me know, where did you take this wonderfol shot!
Hi Zsofia. Yes, it's real, but I "punched up" the colours and contrasts somewhat in Photoshop. It was my first RAW image, and when I began post-processing and saw the colours jump like that, I was hooked on RAW imaging forever! I shot this photo at the Ripley's Aquarium at the foot of the CN Tower in downtown Toronto. The last time I returned to the aquarium, however, this particular type of jellyfish was gone, sadly, as I was hoping to get an even better photo with my new camera.
The nature is impressive and your photography too. Thanks for share this amazing capture.
Thanks so much, Cristian! I do wish I had taken this shot with my Canon 6D and had taken a faster exposure to improve the sharpness of the image. Live and learn!
is that real?!
It sure is, T! (I just tweaked the colours a bit in Photoshop.)
This is so fantastic
Indeed, Will! It was post-processing this photo that converted me once and for all to RAW imaging! I couldn't believe how the colours popped when I started moving those RAW sliders! I won't go back to jpegs now.
Raw, eh? I'm a huge fan of maximum quality in artistic presentations (music, movies, pictures, etc.,) and I find myself somewhat displeased that my cameras take Jpegs. I'll have to research raw editing, thanks for the info!
It's so cute and pretty!! Lovely work!
Love the colors! Too cool.
Ho-lee shit, that is amazing! Simply beautiful.
thanks! But there's a better-quality shot elsewhere in my gallery.
I love it! The Color and the light are so fantastic!
Those colors... great photo.
Still, very cool colors!!
This was my first photo developed with the RAW software. Darlene had been urging me for weeks to shoot only in RAW and give up the jpegs. The original pic wasn't nearly so vibrant as this, but when I moved the sliders over, it exploded with colour and contrast! That dramatic post-processing experience made a believer out of me.
Thanks for liking, everyone, but this photo has been in my gallery for a long time. I had to re-upload it as a smaller file--that's why it's called "Polychromatic Jelly small"--in order to feature it large on my profile page. When I tried to do the original photo large there, I was told it was too big.
That is beautiful
ooh great capture
